Park Description

Rail/Ledge Set
Brushy Creek's street course is pretty unique compared to the rest of the skateparks located in Austin. The transitions are extremely mellow in the street course. They are on the verge of being bank ramps. Even though the transitions are mellow I never had a problem picking up speed. There are multiple rails and ledges that provide good lines. The mini-bowl is also constructed well, with transitions ranging from six-to-eight feet. The large pool-coping bowl is pretty intimidating with its foot of vert in the deepest part. Brushy Creek is a fun skatepark and is worth skating if you happen to be in the Cedar Park area.

  1. This blog is such a great resource for skaters in Texas! What's your favorite skate park in the Dallas area? Are there any skate parks in development that you're particularly excited about?

    1. My favorite skate was Eisenbergs up until it closed down a year ago. Now, my favorite skatepark in the Dallas area would have to be Scion skatepark. They just finished designing a skatepark in Arlington, TX that looks promising. It is going to have a snake run and an amphitheatre-style spectator area.

  2. I have a question about the no bike rule. Is there a reason bikes are not allowed? I think skating and biking are equal in sport. Judging by the photos, biking doesn't seem to be a problem.

    1. There are a few different reasons why a skatepark might put into place a "No Biking" rule. One of the reasons is because smaller, busier parks try to prevent injuries due to collisions. Some skateparks have a "bike night" to try and make things fair. Luckily, Austin has plenty of "bike friendly" skateparks, as well as a couple of dirt courses.

  3. Wow, What's the deal with the rule "City may close the park at any time?" Is that meaning that it miht get taken down or is that saying 'We reserve the right to temporarily place this park out of service in extreme cases?'

    1. I am pretty sure that rule is in place for maintenance. I cannot say that I have ever been to a skatepark and had a parks and recreaction department shut the skatepark down on me.
